What types of clusters are available in Databricks?

Databricks offers several cluster types to suit different workloads. The Standard cluster is the most common; it runs a single Spark driver and multiple worker nodes, suitable for interactive notebooks and batch jobs. The High Concurrency cluster is designed for multi‑user, concurrent workloads such as SQL analytics and REST API calls; it uses a shared driver and can handle many simultaneous queries. The Single Node cluster runs all Spark components on a single VM, ideal for debugging, unit testing, or small exploratory jobs. Additionally, Databricks provides a Job cluster that is created automatically for a scheduled job and terminated afterward, which helps control costs. Each cluster type can be configured with autoscaling, spot instances, and GPU support, allowing teams to balance performance, cost, and resource utilization.
